Santiago de Cuba - The Moncada Barracks was the site of an armed attack by a small group of revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro on 26 July 1953. This armed attack had been lost, but after it was designed as the beginning of the Cuban Revolution and the date on which the attack took place was adopted as the name for the revolutionary movement (Movimiento 26 Julio or M 26-7).
Still you can see the bullets holes.
